Paediatric Physiotherapy

What is the role of a Paediatric Physiotherapist?

The role of the paediatric physiotherapist is to evaluate and provide treatment for delays in motor skills by developing the strength and range of motion that children need to move through their environment easily and effectively.

Signs and Symptoms that your child would benefit from Neurodevelopmental Physiotherapy:

School-going children (4-12)

Young children and babies (0-3)

A young child’s development can be impacted due to many reasons. These could be due to in-utero complications, birth trauma or subsequently acquired illness. Prematurity may also impact a child’s physical development due to sensory issues and lack of early activation of core muscle groups.

We provide development screenings, neurodevelopmental assessments, and supportive therapy to assist the child with physical development. This is not only focused on achieving milestones but also developing good quality foundational movement patterns as this will likely impact posture later if they are absent. We work in conjunction with you and your team within our intervention process.

Services offered:

1.) School-based Screenings

2.) Neurodevelopmental Assessment

2.) Neurodevelopmental Physiotherapy

We work in adjunct to your team of doctors, teachers, occupational and speech therapists, and your child will be referred to other practitioners as needed. Most importantly, we want to help you as a family understand how to help your child thrive and development to their utmost potential.
